The Cider Road
Yec'Hed Mat ! Cheers !
The right cider to his requirements: a good land to grow apple trees, ancestral know-how. Conditions gathered in the country of Rennes, where a dozen producers perpetuate a long tradition.
There was a time when cider reigned supreme over the Breton tables, those of the decades of 1950-1960, when one began to prefer wine and beer to him and that slaughter premiums made hundreds disappear apple orchards.
If the cider pressed everywhere, the good wines were limited and are still limited to some earth: BASSIN DE RENNES, PAYS DE LA VILAINE, PAYS DE DOL , GOËLO.
